PTM- is it a genuine or fabricated moment?
The recent picture in the mid of every pashtun's, particularly in conflict war zones like FATA, PATA and malakand Division in KPK about army is very confusing and dubious, The killing and disappearance of civilians, extra judicial killings, destruction of houses, livelihoods, forcing out of over a million people from their homes to live under pathetic conditions in tents and rented houses, “humiliations” faced by the IDPS at security check posts, and discriminatory treatment not only in their own areas. Pashtuns racial Profiling, ethinic cleansing, showing pashtuns culture dress as a symbol of terrorists are the key factors which has made maximum distance between the state and civilians
The PTM leadership is the product of the arduous and wretched conditions they have face in their native areas for decades. They suffered and still suffer under colonial-era laws (the FCR- Rules); The inhabitants have witnessed barbarism and terrorism in its worst shapes as al-Qaeda, slaughtering, the Taliban and a host of other militant groups came to settle in their villages and towns, through terror and fear and they experienced destruction and humiliation at the hands of their own country’s army.
The PTM leadership is harsh in its statements and slogans, many of the analysts declared that they are carrying a foreign agenda from other NDS and Raw While cornering them further may increase their sense of alienation, a sober effort to listen to their lawful demands may help bring them into the fold.
For Pakistan, the best and only way forward is to honor its own laws and constitution, which binds us in a social contract. Treating us outside these laws and constitution will only weaken the bonds that tie the country’s diverse 207 million people together. We have created a golden opportunity for Islamabad to shun its past as a security state and function as a normal country concerned with the welfare of its citizens.
